Our Journey

In August 2025, we began our culture journey, an extensive consultation process designed to refresh and redefine our company values. Through focus groups and engagement surveys, team members from across the business shared their insights, experiences and ideas. Their feedback helped us identify the behaviours and principles that matter most to those in our venues, ensuring our values truly reflect the people who bring BGL to life every day.

In February 2026, we brought team members together for our inaugural BGL Conference, where we shared our strategy for 2026 and beyond. A major highlight of the event was the launch of our new company Purpose, Values & Behaviours:

Our Purpose: “We create exceptional space to play and be together.”

Our Values: Fun, Ambition, Collaboration, and Trust. These were carefully shaped to reflect how we work together across the business.

Simon Thompson, CEO, shared:

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and the development of our purpose and values has been shaped directly by their insights and experiences. Bringing teams together from across the business to launch this work was incredibly powerful, and it marks an important step as we look ahead to the next phase of BGL’s growth.”

The conference formed part of a wider BGL Awards Week, which included two celebration evenings recognising exceptional contributions across our Golf, Adventure & Ninja Leisure divisions.

The rollout of our new purpose, values and behaviours is already underway. Venues across the business are hosting local launch events, bringing these ideas to life in everyday working environments. This is just the beginning of an exciting cultural shift, one that we believe will enhance the experience of our team members and support a more fulfilling working life for everyone at BGL.
