Job Overview: 

As a Chef at Mulligans, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes that complement our exciting, competitive social setting. You will work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, ensuring our guests enjoy a premium culinary experience while maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of food preparation and presentation to ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s high standards. Ensure consistency in taste and presentation in all meals. 
  • Kitchen Management: Assist with managing kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Train and mentor junior team members. 
  • Inventory & Stock Control: Help manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste. Ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients while maintaining cost-efficiency. 
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. 
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure efficient operations, particularly during peak times. 
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a memorable experience for guests by consistently delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining a positive kitchen culture. Respond to customer feedback and adapt as needed to enhance their dining experience. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a fast-paced kitchen, preferably within a competitive social and hospitality setting. 
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques. 
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. 
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices. 
  • A passion for food and creating unique dining experiences. 
  • Ability to adapt and innovate in response to customer needs and trends. 
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 

Desirable: 

  • Culinary qualifications (e.g., Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent). 
  • Experience in managing kitchen staff and inventory. 
  • Knowledge of current food trends and customer preferences. 
  • Experience in a competitive social setting (e.g., event-based dining or themed restaurant).
