Job description

As a Course Warden, you'll be the face of Thornbury’s Marlwood and Severn View courses—ensuring great member/guest experiences by maintaining pace-of-play, etiquette, and course standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome players at the 1st tee, check green fees or memberships, and manage tee times
• Marshal across both courses to maintain pace of play, oversee player conduct, and communicate local rules/etiquette glassdoor.co.uk
• Monitor and reinforce maintenance of bunkers, pitch marks, divots, litter removal, and general tidiness.
• Help with ball collection on the driving range, through the Winter this involves handpicking balls from the range.
• Report any course issues (damaged signage, irrigation faults) to the Greenkeeping team.
• Assist in running competition days, golf societies, and events as needed.
• Support lost‑and‑found enquiries and provide basic first‑aid care if needed.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with players and internal teams.
• Comfortable spending long hours outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Punctual, reliable, well‑organised, and presentable at all times.

Typical Working Conditions

• Fixed or flexible shifts including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
• A physically active job requiring walking the course and possibly handling light equipment.
