Aldwickbury Park Golf Club is a well-established, thriving golf club situated within the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside, featuring an 18-hole main course & 9-hole short course. We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming atmosphere with an active membership base ranging from beginners to experienced competitive golfers, with strong participation levels and a genuine appetite for improvement.
The Role:
We’re looking for an energetic and commercially minded PGA Professional to take the lead in our retail operations and member engagement initiatives. As Head Professional, you will oversee all aspects of the professional services operation, acting as an ambassador for the club while driving participation, retail performance, and player development.
There is significant scope to expand coaching programmes, develop new initiatives, and elevate the overall golf offering, and as part of the BGL Group with over 1,200 employees, the company offers excellent training, development, and career progression.
As part of the Head of Department team, you’ll be eager to work collaboratively across all areas of the business—including food & beverage, events, and operations—to help drive both customer service excellence and overall sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality coaching to individuals and groups, from new golfers to established members
Grow and manage a dynamic lesson programme, including junior and beginner pathways
Lead and develop the professional shop, merchandising, and retail strategy
Support competitions, club events, and member engagement initiatives
Work closely with club management and committees to enhance the overall golf experience and deliver a joined-up customer experience and drive business growth
Mentor and lead any assistant professionals or coaching staff
Requirements:
PGA Qualified Professional
Strong retail and customer service background
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Motivated, proactive, and commercially aware
